The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) hosted on Monday the Omani-Lithuanian Business Forum, which was organised in partnership with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United Kingdom.

In opening remarks, Faisal al Rawas, OCCI Chairman, welcomed a high-level Lithuanian delegation headed by Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economy and Innovation, and Zigmantas Dargevivius, Vice President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce of Lithuania and the President of Kaunas Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts.

Al Rawas said the visit underlined bilateral efforts to strengthen commercial and investment relations between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of enhancing partnership and cooperation between Oman and Lithuania and establishing robust business relationships between the two nations.

Discussions during the forum identifies specific investments that serve the promising economic sectors of both countries, as well as enhancing commercial exchange, imports, and exports. Al Rawas also expressed his hope that the deliberations would result in the exchange of information on exportable products and available business and investment opportunities in both nations.

OCCI remains committed to working with their Lithuanian counterparts to improve economic and business relations between the private sectors of Oman and Lithuania, the Chairman stated.

During a recent visit to Oman, a group of at least 30 Lithuanian companies from various industries expressed their excitement to establish partnerships in the Omani market. The Lithuanian delegation includes manufacturers of furniture, real estate, tourism, and more.

Lithuania is known as an export-driven country, and Oman presents an interesting market for Lithuanian businesses. The delegation is interested in exploring all sectors of the Omani market and believes that cooperation between Lithuania and Oman could be strengthened in the IT sector. With Lithuania being one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world and Oman investing heavily in technology, both countries could benefit from further collaboration.

Energy is also an area of interest for Lithuania, as they have invested over €1 billion in the green transformation of their energy and electricity resources, including hydrogen technology. This presents an opportunity for prospective cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy technology.

Overall, the Lithuanian delegation is optimistic about the potential for new partnerships and collaborations in Oman. The visit includes business forums and B2B meetings to facilitate discussions and establish new connections.
