Muscat - Dr. Hussain Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed his thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Omani government for their positive role in helping to lift sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing the Omani role In this regard, constructive and fruitful.
Abdollahian added in a statement that the Sultanate of Oman has taken serious initiatives regarding the Iranian nuclear issue, which will contribute to the return of negotiations in this regard.
He said that during his meeting with Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, he discussed many issues that would enhance cooperation between the two countries, in addition to regional and international issues, especially the Palestinian issue, reconciliation in Yemen and Sudan crisis.
The minister added that after the visit of the Iranian President to Muscat in May, the relations between the two countries witnessed more cooperation in the economic and investment fields, indicating that the Joint Economic Committee will hold its 20th meeting soon.
