We are back with meetings with coffee breaks and sipping water and thinking of number of glasses of water to consume everyday.
The fasting culminated with feasting and holidaying and now it is time to bring back life to normalcy.
The pace of life will change too because we are slowly approaching summer. Something about summer makes you think of holidays as well. It is programmed in such a way due to our schooling system. For more than 10 years we are into the calendar that sticks to us and that makes one wonder why do we not take up courses in school on management of finance and eating right.
Life would be perfect then... would it not?
It is not that simple, because for children who would also seem to be yet another text book to study to be tested later. But some parents get it right and they somehow get children involved in life skills. It is just like the topic of whose responsibility is it anyway?
We want to push more and more responsibilities to schools and they in turn have to give assignments where parents also have to be involved.
Initially it is exciting and then it is interesting only to find the path getting to be challenging for parents.
The years pass by so quickly that you are soon looking at a youth armed with ambitions and insecurities wanting to take a leap.
Wonder how would they fare in real life because parents themselves are battling it out.
How do some find the right call and how are they lucky to have been able to make the decision early in life?
Mentors make a difference.
While parents are busy molding a child, mentors open up the potential of the world. Friends could fulfill all kind of roles. From throwing in the peer pressure of judging and defining they can also help each other grow. They can also be the game changers. They can bring in a sense of belonging or create a tone of isolation.
The bridging of the gaps and connecting the generations may not need research or discoveries but the fact is we are still not working towards eliminating loneliness that could be playing a crucial role in a variety of health ailments.
The short holidays we all have had together has brought many families and friends together, and even here there must have been the ones who dreaded the gatherings because they suffer from social anxiety.
They say social anxiety is all about having a persistent fear of being watched and judged. The social media influencers really opened up our eyes on how so many people excel in the art of being in the spotlight like never before. The difference today is the individuals are creating their own space.
This of course had created opportunities to excel but even here only the strong ones can last because cyber bullying can be even more powerful. Of course one has a choice of vanishing from the scene by deleting the identity but the scars might not be easily healed.
Could this lead to social anxiety in people who once used to be confident?
In social anxiety one often thinks others can notice they are nervous and it can be an ordeal making people wonder whether it is necessary to put oneself through the challenging experience. Once people withdraw it might be difficult to make a comeback but as they say once you know cycling or swimming there is never really a chance for a person to forget the skills that have been acquired.
People with social anxiety are often misunderstood as being arrogant. Only psychiatrist or a psychologist who can tell us more about how introverts are different from people with social anxiety.
But from what we understand is the introverts are quite comfortable the way they are. In fact they are happy in their own company and space. As a matter of fact they gain more energy and hardly goes through any stress.
Now comes about the individuals who are shy. Might never know whether it is shyness that keeps them away from interactions or is it social anxiety.
