As Eid al Fitr is a religious celebration, Muslims start the day by performing a special prayer to thank Allah for enabling them complete the month of fasting and for designating this day as a day of happiness for all Muslims all over the world. They perform the prayer collectively in the early morning in masjids or an outdoor spacious area.
