Preparations for the Musandam Carnival which is set to take place from April 26 to 28, from 4:00 pm to midnight at Bassa Beach in the Wilayat of Khasab are well underway. The carnival is organised in cooperation between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Office of the Governor of Musandam and the Omran Group, with the participation of a number of government and private agencies.
The carnival will be held on Bassa Beach in the Wilayat of Khasab, which is distinguished by its natural beauty and its proximity to the most prominent tourist sites in the governorate. A tourism project is currently being developed among its sides, and it includes a public park and various public facilities. To contribute to enriching the tourist experience for its visitors.
Nawfal bin Mohammed al Kamzari, Assistant Director of the Heritage and Tourism Department in Musandam Governorate, said: “We, in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, are constantly striving to diversify tourism products in the various destinations of the Sultanate of Oman, and We also aim to enhance the local tourism movement by employing the natural and cultural richness that these destinations enjoy.” “The Governorate of Musandam has many natural, cultural and historical assets, which contribute to providing comprehensive and integrated tourism experiences for visitors,” he added.
The carnival will play an active role in enriching the experience of all family members throughout the three days through the various corners it includes, which are the food corner, which is delicious traditional and international food, the shopping corner, which allows visitors to serve learn about local products and products of home projects, and the corner of the Omani Women's Association in Khasab, which operates mainly to acquaint visitors with the local culture of Musandam Governorate by presenting various foods and local handicrafts, a children's activities corner dedicated to presenting various recreational fun games.
In youth activities corner a musical performances and a group of electronic and interactive games are presented, and a marine activities corner dedicated to presenting beach football and beach volleyball, in addition to a theatre corner to present various theatrical performances such as light shows and fire shows.
Noura bint Mohammed al Dhahouriyah, Planning and Investment Director at the Musandam Governor’s Office said, “This carnival demonstrates our unwavering commitment to exploring different tourism experiences in the region and promoting the diversity of our culture to visitors. It is also an extension of the tourism season-related activities periodically held in the governorate. Such carnivals play a pivotal role in developing the tourism sector by attracting visitors from Oman and the rest of the world. This, in turn, will create opportunities for local businesses, including SMEs, to thrive and grow.”
Speaking on the significance and importance of the event, Badriya bint Abdulrahman al Siyabiyah, Manager of Social Investment at OMRAN Group, said, “Such events align with OMRAN Group’s efforts to continue strengthening its stakeholder engagement to further enhance Oman’s tourism sector. This specific carnival also plays an instrumental role in creating a platform for raising awareness on In-Country Value (ICV), thereby contributing to the country’s overall socio-economic growth and prosperity.”
