A students’ company at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat developed an anti-fog coating product from natural and environment-friendly materials.
The new tool is to increase the comfort and choice of customers and relieve them from the problem of foggy glasses while drinking tea, leaving a cold or a hot place, which affects vision due to the accumulation of fog over the glass.
The finding is also a relief for those who tend to lose glasses frequently and suffer from the weight of eyeglasses.
‘Nadera’, a student company participating in Injaz Oman, showcased an anti-fog coating product developed in the laboratory from natural, and environment-friendly materials that last for a full year on eyeglass lenses. It also has a 24-hour anti-fog spray.
A survey conducted by the company found that many who wear glasses have some problems with their glasses. They didn’t want a product in the eyewear market beyond frames and lenses. ‘Nadera’ created its effective product at a competitive price to attract its customers, not only adults and children but also those who had sunglasses, as well as workers in laboratories and factories who needed protective eyewear.
“The company offers a package of secondary products such as an eco-friendly leather bag that is lightweight and easy to use, in addition to a smart glass tracker that is linked to a mobile phone to locate the glasses in case of loss. The company aspires to win this year in the Injaz Oman Student Company Competition and believes that its vision is that the company leads the field of entrepreneurship, as every Omani company working in the field of glass offers products with excellent standards and competitive prices,” Said, Boutaina Boujrada, Head of Human Resources Department of the company.
The student company aspires to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 by activating the role of Omani youth in the field of leadership, creating job opportunities and advancing development.
