The Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC) has turned out to be the venue for iftars, while last week a large Iftar reception of 1,000 took place at the same venue. People from various walks of life took part in the Iftar reception.
Several ministerial representatives, executives, and their employees attended the Iftar, which continued till Suhour. The Iftar was organised by Nada Happiness, a popular name in wholesale trading.
Several halls of the iconic exhibition centre were joined together to host the large gathering.
Vehicles were controlled by volunteers and visitors were given proper directions for their convenience.
Event organising committee members included Abdul Salam, Chairman; Abdul Asif, MD; and Abdul Saleem, Director.
Ameer Ahmed, COO said it was the first time so many people broke fast together in the recent past.
“We have conducted Iftar gatherings in the past too. But this is the first time that an Iftar of this stature is conducted and many of the Omani as well as expatriate workforce being honoured,” they said.
As many as 72 employees, comprising both Omanis and expatriates who have been working for over five years and more than a decade were honoured with mementoes and tokens of appreciation.
