MUSCAT, April 12
Al Musannah managed to clinch a significant win against Al Rustaq with a score of 2-1 in the 21st round of the Omantel League held at the Sports Complex in Rustaq on Tuesday. The game was full of excitement and nail-biting moments as both teams gave it their all to win the game.
The first-half saw a balanced performance by both teams, with the host team, Al Rustaq, having a slight advantage.
Despite several attempts to advance, Al Musannah's defence remained vigilant and successfully prevented any danger posed by Al Rustaq's attackers. However, in the 38th minute, Al Rustaq managed to take the lead through their professional Daniel Jesus.
In the second-half, Al Rustaq attempted to double their score to secure three points and maintain their position among the leading teams. However, Al Musannah surprised them with an equalising goal by Hammoud al Saadi in the 56th minute.
After this, Al Musannah continued to push forward and launched several attacks, one of which resulted in a goal by Rodrigues from a header in the 70th minute. Despite Al Rustaq's efforts to achieve an equaliser, Al Musannah remained solid in defence and ultimately won the game with two goals to one.
The victory gave Al Musannah Club three crucial points, bringing their total points to 27 and securing the ninth position in the league table. Meanwhile, Al Rustaq Club remain at 38 points, and they risk losing third place if Al Seeb win in the next match.
The match was officiated by chief referee Haitham al Amiri, assisted by Hamad al Ghafri, Ayman al Habsi and Nayef al Balushi as the fourth referee, with Rashid al Hosani as the match observer.
AL NASR BLANK AL BASHAYER
In another match, Al Nasr Club secured a victory over hosts Al Bashayer Club with two clean goals, scored by Abdullah Zaher in the 27th minute followed by professional Philip Aka's goal in the 81st minute. The match took place at the Nizwa Stadium.
The match was filled with action and excitement, with the referee handing out numerous yellow cards.
With this result, Al Nasr Club jumped to 24 points and remained in tenth place, while Al Bashayer Club continued to struggle, occupying the last position in the league table with nine points only.
