Muscat: There are chances of occasional thunderstorms accompanied by active winds on the Hajar Mountains and the adjacent areas of parts of the governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta, Al Sharqiyah South, and Muscat.

There is a possibility of rising dust in the desert and open areas due to the movement of active winds and during the formation of thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a heavy rain alert advising the public to be cautious during rainfall and thundershowers and warning against crossing running wadis.

The public is advised to avoid low-lying areas and venturing into the sea due to heavy rains expected from morning to evening on Monday over the Hajar Mountains and the surrounding areas.

Rainfall ranging from 10 mm to 40 is expected in the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, Al Wusta, and Dhofar, the CAA said.
