Muscat: Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, launched an online entrepreneurship academy on Wednesday known as the Riyada platform.
“The Riyada Academy is an online training platform specialised in developing comprehensive skills in the field of entrepreneurship. The platform provides a roadmap that shows practical steps for the success of small and medium enterprises, keeping pace with the best international practices in the field of training,” said Project Manager of the platform Laila al Maamari.
"The platform aims to provide training and qualification courses for owners of small and medium enterprises and provide them with the basic skills to manage their enterprises with a variety of interesting courses. The platform also aims to connect with beneficiaries in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman via the Internet, opening up opportunities for skill development and teaching using technology without the need to visit [physical] training facilities and saving beneficiaries time, money, and effort," she said.
The newly launched academy will provide various courses in the field of entrepreneurship at no cost. "The platform seeks to provide various training courses in the field of entrepreneurship including entrepreneurship fundamentals, feasibility studies, market analysis, financial and marketing skills as well as e-commerce,” Laila said.
According to Laila, users will be able to test their knowledge about topics before and after the course to gauge their level of learning. Additionally, they will also be able to access a comprehensive resource library for upcoming and existing entrepreneurs.
