MUSCAT: The Muscat Municipality, together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Oman Basketball Association, announced the opening of registration for the Muscat Nights Basketball Triples Tournament. This event is designed to promote basketball in the Sultanate of Oman and to provide a platform for youth and sports talents to showcase their skills.
The championship competitions will be held at the Strike Sports Centre in the Oman Automobile Association, on April 6 and 7. The championship aims to attract 12 men’s teams and six women’s teams. The organising committee has set the last date for registration as Wednesday, April 5.
The tournament is part of the municipality's efforts to promote healthy competition among participating teams, attract young people and talents in various sports, and create night events in Muscat that stimulate the practice of physical and sports activities. The municipal committee has allocated financial prizes for the top-performing teams to encourage participation.
The organising committee requires the formation of a team that includes four players whose age in male category not less than 21 years, and the age of female participants not less than 23 years. The committee also allows the participation of the national basketball team players. This is to discover excellent players in the game of basketball trios, in order to support the national teams that are awaiting upcoming participation in basketball trios.
To facilitate registration and speed up the process, the Organizing Committee has opened the door for electronic registration via the link (https://forms.gle/NSGVX6TYmApkCEfe9). This enables teams to register their players and attach the required documents.
The Oman Basketball Association has nominated a number of international referees and basketball triathletes to manage the tournament matches for the men and women categories.
The Muscat Nights Basketball Triples Tournament promises to be an exciting event that will bring together some of the best basketball players in Oman.
