The Indian Social Club (ISC) is conducting an Open Junior Tennis Tournament 2023 for players of all nationalities from April 5 to 20.
Any player between the following age groups can register their interest and the deadline to register is 8pm on Tuesday.
There will be three categories starting from 10-year-old boys and girls combined, boys singles under-12, under-14 and 16 and girls singles under-12, under-14 and 16.
Speaking to the Observer, Sivan, tennis coach and the organiser said the more than 100 tennis aspirants are expected to take part in the tournament.
“We are happy to be hosting the 15th edition of the Open Junior Tennis which is, as the name indicates, open to all and we are expecting more than 100 participants to the more than two-week-long contests,” Sivan added.
Accordingly, winners will be given medals and trophies for their mettle in tennis. The tournament, which is in the 16th year had to give the last edition a pass during Covid-19 pandemic.
Since its beginning in 2004, Ramniklal B Kothari was the sponsor of the event for the first four years whose baton was taken over by Muscat pharmacy since then and continued till 2018.
