The Omani Culture Festival will be held from March 19 to 22 and will have various activities ranging from poetry, culture and art for all those who have an interest in those areas.
With the participation of several poets and guests from inside and outside Oman, the festival in its new edition seeks to keep pace with the people's aspirations in line with the Omani cultural strategy that was launched recently as part of the Oman Vision 2040.
Abdullah bin Mohammed al Harthy, General Director of Knowledge and Cultural Development and Director of the Omani Culture Festival, said: "The return of the festival with cultural and artistic aspects, is great evidence of the interest of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the country's cultural growth in all fields."
He explained out of 122 applications in the poetry category, 16 qualified while among 38 folk arts interests 11 teams qualified.
Mohammed bin Hamad al Masrouri, Head of the Committee, to sort and select folk art groups, confirmed that the return of the movement through the festival created opportunities for all sections of people.
The aim is to shed light on folk arts due to the diversity in arts in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. The band is registered with the ministry and holds a valid license.
The idea of the festival comes as an embodiment of the Omani heritage and the various arts that accompany it. The festival sheds light on poetry in both its eloquent and popular parts, as well as folk arts, according to a creative vision in which elite Omani poets and guests from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman meet.
