MUSCAT: Aryan Siddiqui (19), an inspiring young Indian inventor and entrepreneur, has achieved remarkable success in the field of technology.

An Oman resident earlier, he has been accepted into two of the world’s leading universities, Harvard and Stanford, where he is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in computer science.

An alumnus of British School Muscat, Aryan’s story can be a source of inspiration for many young people in Oman and around the world who dream of pursuing rewarding careers abroad.

Aryan is not only an accomplished student, but also a talented innovator and builder. He has co-founded several technology-oriented start-ups, including Crescendo, an online marketplace for renting musical instruments, and a R&D start-up that built AI tools for Covid-19 detection and prevention.

He is currently building Groupl, a social app for Stanford students, which was a finalist in the consumer category of the BASES 100k Challenge, Stanford's biggest entrepreneurship competition.

Aryan’s success is a result of his hard work and determination, as well as his ability to leverage his passions and interests to create innovative solutions.

He has a strong sense of social responsibility and has used his skills and knowledge to benefit society. He launched No One Will Sleep Hungry (NOSH), an organisation that delivers food to underprivileged families in India, during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also founded Oman Coding Society (OCS), which offers courses in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java to Omani children, and Mathletes Oman, which hosted a massive summer competition for students from various cities and wilayats of Oman.

Aryan’s achievements and initiatives have not gone unnoticed. He was coached by Crimson Education to get into top universities, and his extra-curricular activities and entrepreneurial capstones impressed the admissions committee.

Soraya Beheshti, Regional Director at Crimson Education and Aryan’s advisor, says, “Aryan was an exceptional student to work with, with a keen interest in pursuing Computer Science at the world's leading universities. However, most of his extra-curricular activities were focused on debate, where he had already displayed impressive skills.”

To expand his portfolio and tie together his interests in both debate and computer science, Soraya worked with Aryan to develop a range of entrepreneurial projects that demonstrated his technical fluency and cohesion with his passions.

Aryan is confident that he will be able to use the knowledge and skills gained at Stanford to benefit Oman and its technological development.

His success serves as a reminder that with hard work, determination and a strong sense of social responsibility, anyone can achieve their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.
