His Majesty inaugurates Royal Academy of Management

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Monday presided over the official inauguration of the Royal Academy of Management at the ministries’ area in Al Khuwair.


Upon his arrival to the Royal Academy of Management’s headquarters, His Majesty was received by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Academy of Management, and Dr Ali bin Qassim Jawad al Lawati, the President of the Academy, and members of the Board of Trustees of the Academy.

As a gesture marking the opening of the Academy, His Majesty the Sultan placed a symbolic key on the gate’s model.


After that, His Majesty went on tour of the Royal Academy of Management’s facilities. The 5-story building has multiple spaces that were designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency and inspiration among the various teams at the Academy. The building was also remodeled to offer an interactive, functional and smart user experience for both employees and the Academy’s wider community.


Focusing on creating an enabling environment for both working and learning, the natural lights and green spaces offer a healthy work environment, whereas the smart systems and meeting capsules create an ideal space to facilitate virtual meetings. The building also consists of various joint work spaces and community areas shying away from the traditional fixed workstations.

During the tour, His Majesty met members of the International Advisory Board of the Royal Academy of Management.


At the conclusion of the Royal visit, His Majesty received a commemorative gift from the Royal Academy of Management. Presented by Dr Ali bin Qassim Jawad al Lawati. The gift was inspired by the inauguration event and embodies the Academy’s official opening gate. It conveys a balanced openness to the world while maintaining national originality. The gate, in its essence, reflects strength and influence, it also features a key that indicates a crossing to the future with determination.


The official opening ceremony was attended by some members of the Royal Family, ministers, the chairmen of the State Council and the Shura Council, undersecretaries and members of the Board of Trustees and the Academy’s International Advisory Board.

The Royal Academy of Management enjoys His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Royal patronage, since its establishment by a Royal Decree on January 11, 2022. Through its all-inclusive system of centres, initiatives and programmes based on advanced methods of modern management, the Academy grooms national leaders at various administrative levels in the public and private sectors.
