SUHAR: The 10th International Sculpture Exhibition was opened under the auspices of HH Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaifer al Said, on Saturday.
Twenty-four sculptors, representing 11 countries in addition to Omani sculptors, are taking part in the exhibition.
The exhibition contains 22 artworks carved by the participating artists in eight days as part of sculpture camp. All the sculptures express the common theme ‘sustainability’.
Dr Ali bin Sulaiman al Jabri, general supervisor of the camp, said that the success of the camp enhances the state of sculpturing at the international level after ten years of conducting the camp in the Wilayat of Suhar.
A total of 246 sculptures were carved at the international sculptors camp since its inception as more than 235 sculptors from 40 countries participated in the camp, he said. — ONA
