'Observer Debate' series launches today with focus on contemporary issues

'Observer Debate' organised by the Oman Daily Observer will begin at the Ministry of Information premises at 10 am on Wednesday. The debate will have deliberations on contemporary issues by experts every month, in which experts from different sectors will take part and shed light on them.


The key speakers of Wednesday's debate are Dr Hamed al Sinawi, eminent psychiatrist; Sarah Said, educationist; and Davis Kallukkaran, auditing specialist and finance personnel.


ABDULLAH BIN SALIM AL SHUEILI, Editor-in-Chief of Oman Daily Observer, will be the Guest of Honour, while Lakshmi Kothaneth will be the presenter.


The topic of the first 'Observer Debate' is 'The emotional conundrum in the post-Covid-19 era'.


Eminent panel:


DR HAMED AL SINAWI is a senior consultant and old age psychiatrist at SQU and the chairman and founder of Oman Alzheimer's Society. He completed his residency and higher psychiatry training in London and established a memory clinic in Oman in 2011. Along with his clinical work, Dr Al Sinawi is a trainer for the residents at the Omani board of psychiatry, a columnist with Oman Observer and a research supervisor for residents and medical students.


SARAH SAEED currently holds the position of Academic Director at Global Education Services (GES) in Muscat. Born and raised in the UK, Sarah has completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the UK, specialising in Business, Management and Education. Sarah has presented workshops to equip senior leadership members, teachers, and administrators within the classroom and effective leadership strategies to accomplish SMART outcomes.


DAVIS KALLUKKARAN is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and is the Founder and Managing Partner of Crowe Oman, a firm of Auditors and Business advisors established in the Sultanate of Oman in 1995. He has over 35 years of experience in audit, business advisory and taxation services for banks, financial institutions and other corporate entities.
