An Oman-India Business Forum was held at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 as part of the Chamber’s ‘Globally Connected’ initiative.

In attendance were Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, OCCI Chairman and Amit Narang, Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman. Also present were members of a visiting Indian business delegation representing the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

In remarks to journalists, Ambassador Narang said the forum would contribute to rapidly growing trade and economic ties between the two countries.

“As you are aware, we have a very strong trade and investment relationship between India and Oman,” he said. “Bilateral trade is growing at a very healthy pace. We have crossed $10 billion of bilateral trade last year, and Inshallah, it’ll be much higher this year. Investments are also growing. There is a lot of interest from Indian investors to come and look at Oman as an investment destination. We are actively promoting them.”

Private sector business leaders from the two countries also explore opportunities for cooperation across several sectors, namely information and communications technology, mining and minerals, and plastics manufacturing, in addition to beauty, health and health care, herbal tea, and textiles.
