MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday issued two Royal decrees reading as follows: Royal Decree No. 2/2023 ascribes the public utility status to the project of constructing a dam for protection against flood water in Wadi Adoubab (Project A1B) in the Wilayat of Salalah, Governorate of Dhofar.
Article (1) states that the project of constructing a dam for protection against floods in Wadi Adoubab (Project A1B) in the Wilayat of Salalah, Governorate of Dhofar, as defined in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, is henceforth deemed a public utility project.
Article (2) stipulates that the authorities concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and lands necessary for the aforementioned project, along with all the installations therein in accordance with the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree 64/78.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
