

SOHAR: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth organised on Tuesday a training workshop on healthy nutrition in the community, which targeted 50 participants from various educational institutions in North Al Batinah Governorate,
The workshop was organised with the support of Occidental Oman, in the lecture hall of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in the governorate.
The training workshop dealt with main axes on healthy nutrition that include families, school and society. It was presented by Ameera bint Hamoud al Nasiriyah, Senior Clinical Nutritionist at the Royal Hospital.
The themes of the workshop related to anatomy of the human body, defining its needs for growth and vital functions, the impact of organ failure on pathological and therapeutic conditions, and linking their roles to nutrients, in addition to a practical application of the mechanism for calculating energy and nutrients for different stages. -- ONA
