Muscat: The tropical condition in the southeast of the Arabian Sea has intensified into a deep tropical depression, according to Oman Meteorology Office (Oman Met) on Thursday.
In a statement, Oman Met said that the latest satellite images show the tropical condition in the southeast of the Arabian Sea has developed into a deep tropical depression with sustained wind speed around the centre between 28-33 knots.
The tropical condition will have no direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman over the next 72 hours, Oman Met said.
It is expected to continue moving west/northwest towards the centre of the Arabian Sea.
The sea level is likely to rise up (3-4) meters, with water extending along the low-lying coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Sea in the coming days.
