Sayyid Fahd heads Oman’s delegation at 43rd GCC summit

Riyadh: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the 43rd GCC Summit, which began in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.


In his opening speech, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), congratulated His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on the Sultanate of Oman’s assuming the chairmanship of the 43rd Session of GCC Supreme Council, wishing His Majesty the Sultan success.


HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed that close cooperation among GCC states will lead to the accomplishment of the desired goals. He affirmed that GCC states will remain a reliable source of energy in the world. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia intends to present a new vision for developing and consolidating GCC joint action.


He underscored the need to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis. He also stressed the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the Arab Initiative. He called for espousing joint action to address climate change and to take serious steps to limit its effects.


The official delegation of the Sultanate of Oman comprises Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister; Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs; Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy; HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman in Egypt and its Permanent Representative at the Arab League, and other officials. — ONA
