GCC citizens, residents can enter Qatar without Hayya Card

Football fans who are citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and who do not hold a match ticket for the FIFA World Cup will be allowed to enter Qatar without a Hayya Card, stated the Ministry of the Interior (MOI).

On the other hand, the Ministry also stated that holders of match tickets who wish to see the games live in a stadium must register via the Hayya online platform.

In its latest announcement, the MOI said that citizens and residents of GCC countries will be allowed to enter Qatar without the need to obtain a Hayya Card for non-match ticket holders, through the various entry points into the country, in accordance with the usual entry procedures, as of December 6, 2022.

This is as follows:

First: Mechanism of entry through airports

Citizens and residents of GCC countries coming to Qatar will be able to enter, without requiring registration through the Hayya platform. Effective as of today, December 6, 2022.

Second: Entering the country through the land port using buses

Transportation by buses will be available to all travelers through the land port, as is the case under normal circumstances, and parking spaces will be allocated for visitors without fees.

Third: Entry mechanism through the land port using private vehicles

Citizens and residents of GCC countries coming through land ports with their private vehicles will be able to enter the country as of December 8, 2022. They must apply for a permit on the website of the Ministry of Interior at least 12 hours before the appointment. They will not be required to make payment for a vehicle entry permit fee.

The Ministry added that this step comes in the context of the state's efforts to provide an opportunity for visitors, citizens, and residents of the GCC countries, to enjoy the atmosphere accompanying the matches of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and its entertainment activities during the remainder of this tournament.

This is also to facilitate the entry mechanism through all ports to join thousands of fans in dedicated fan zones and viewing areas to cheer for the world's brightest footballers.
