Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources has announced that 20 million cubic meters of water will be released with the opening of Wadi Dayqah dam shutters between December 6 and 19.
While the aim of the opening of the shutters is to feed the irrigation network at farms of the people of Daghamr and Hail al-Ghaf regions, citizens have been urged to stay away from the valley and adhere to safety instructions.
The village farm is situated about 25 km to the south of Quriyat and is famous for its different varieties of palm trees.
It may be noted that Wadi Dayqah Dam is 75 meters high and has a storage capacity of 100 million cubic meters.
