NIZWA: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences — Nizwa (UTAS-Nizwa) commemorated the glorious 52nd National Day under the auspices of Dr Saeed al Rubaie, President of the UTAS.
The celebration was attended by the deans, assistant deans, members of the supporting and administrative academic staff, and university students.
The event began with the Omani National Anthem followed by a recitation of a national poem delivered by the student Maathar al Siyabi.
Then the ceremony witnessed performances of traditional dances and songs. The theatre committee of UTAS-Nizwa presented a theatrical show in which they embodied the history of Oman through the past and present.
The ceremony concluded with a poetic operetta of Hilal al Shiyadi performed by a group of the University students. Also, the students displayed a painting of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
At the end, Dr Al Rubaie extended his thanks and appreciation for the efforts put into organising the event with a rich and fruitful content.
