MUSCAT: Indian School Muscat (ISM) students excelled in CBSE Oman Cluster badminton tournament 2022


held on November 6 at the school premises. It was a clean sweep by Indian School Muscat as they won in all categories -- Under 14 Boys and Girls, Under 17 Boys and Girls and Under 19 Boys and Girls.


Vinoba MP, Sr Principal and Education Adviser, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, graced the occasion as the chief guest for the opening ceremony and declared the tournament open. Principal Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Senior Vice-Principal (Administration), vice-principals, assistant vice-principals and heads of the departments, coaches from different schools, teachers, parents and students witnessed the proceedings.


As many as 175 students from 11 Indian Schools participated in this cluster tournament. The chief guest in his address stressed on the importance of sports in our lives and how it unifies and strengthens the sportsmanship among students and encouraged the students to participate in more sporting activities and give their best.


Young shuttlers from various schools delivered scintillating performances through the day. The tournament was held for under 14, under 17 and under 19 years for boys and girls categories. All players showcased intensified performances aiming to bag the winner’s trophy. Indian School Muscat continued its winning streak by setting records in all categories to achieve pinnacles of success in the sporting arena.


The winners were felicitated by guest of honour Mohammed Imran Khan, Vice-Chair, finance sub-committee, during the valedictory ceremony.


Principal Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan congratulated all the winners and wished them best for the CBSE nationals in India.


The programme concluded on a positive note with a thought to inculcate in students a strong spirit of participation in sports and to promote fit and healthy individuals to build a strong nation.

Under 14 Girls


Winners: Indian School Muscat, Runners-up: Indian School Darsait, Third: Indian School Bausher and Indian School Suhar.


Under 17 Boys


Winners: Indian School Muscat, Runners-up: Indian School Ghubra, Third: Indian School Seeb and Indian School Darsait.


Under 17 Girls


Winners: Indian School Muscat, Runners-up: Indian School Sur, Third: Indian School Darsait and Indian School Suhar.


Under 19 Boys


Winners: Indian School Muscat, Runners-up: Indian School Ghubra, Third: Indian School Seeb and Indian School Wadi Kabir.


Under 19 Girls


Winners: Indian School Muscat, Runners-up: Indian School Wadi Kabir, Third: Indian School Ghubra and Indian School Darsait.
