Muscat: Muscat International Ophthalmology Conference (MIOC) 2022 kicked off on Thursday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).
The three-day conference aims to keep pace with the latest developments in the ophthalmology field.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Hamoud Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior. The event was also attended by Dr Hilal Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health.
The conference is organized by the Ophthalmology Centre at the Armed Forces Hospital, in cooperation with Oman Ophthalmic Society and the participation of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health, Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), Oman Medical Association and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH).
The event includes several lectures and presentations. Moreover, during the conference, the “Ibn Omairah Award” was handed to Omani physicians Sayyid Dr Sultan Yarub al Busaidi and Dr Ali Talib al Hinai and from abroad Prof Mazen Sinjab and Dr Tarek Shaarawy.
Meanwhile, Sayyid Hamoud al Busaidi, Interior Minister, toured the scientific and medical exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference.
