Muscat: The activities and programmes continued by the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF), based in the Sultanate of Oman, in celebration of the International Day of tent pegging, which falls on October 27 each year.
Seminars, competitions and festivals for tent pegging were organised in the various countries which are members of the ITPF.
The International Tent Pegging Federation organised a meeting via visual communication technology. ITPF Chairman Mohammed bin Issa al Fairouz delivered a speech by greeting the members and fans of tent pegging in various countries and thanked the Sultanate of Oman for the great contributions in supporting the development activities of the International Tent Pegging Federation. Al Fairouz also appreciated the achievements of the ITPF since the federation was set up in 2013 based in Oman.
The federation organised three World Cup tournaments. It will organize the fourth World Cup next year, which will be held in South Africa, in addition to organising many international tournaments.
The ITPF formed a committee for the activities in connection to the International Day of tent pegging, headed by Khaled al Quraini, Head of the Administrative Affairs Department of ITPF, and with the membership of Sarah al Masry, Head of the Women’s Committee, Noura al Jabr and Nizar Abdel Wahhab.
On the other hand, the Oman Equestrian Federation, under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation, organised the first international endurance competition for season 202-23, in Al Mahamed field in Barka.
The competition included an international night race for a distance of 100 km, where 36 horses entered the competition. As many as 30 horses managed to successfully pass the first stage, where 26 horses successfully completed the second stage and in the third and final stage 25 horses made the mark.
The Oman Equestrian Federation in cooperation with the British Horse Association, organised a course for equestrian trainers, at Al Rahba Farm in Barka, with the participation of 40 trainers.
British international lecturer Harizink Annie Elizabeth lectured for four days, the practical and theoretical aspects, to raise their competencies in the field of horse training. The conclusion was sponsored by Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, Secretary General of the Oman Equestrian Federation.
