Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, represented by Deaf Oman Sport Committee, concluded the deaf football tournament 2022, at the Al Amal club in Muscat on October 26.
Chief guest Shaikh Said bin Rashid al Qatabi, Director-General of Social Sectors at the Ministry of Economy, awarded the medals to the top winners in the tournament held from October 22 to 26.
The Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired team were crowned the champions of the tournament on Wednesday after the final match against Sohar team at the Al Amal club.
Sohar came in second Place and Al Amerat team finished in third position.
Six teams took part in the tournament from various cities of Oman -- Nakhal team, Sohar, Al Amerat, Al Buraimi, Nizwa and Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired team. The teams were divided into two groups. Four teams qualified to the semifinals -- Oman association team, Sohar, Al Amerat and Nakhal team.
Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired team include Abdullah al Riyami, Moaz al Amiri, Matar al Rashidi, Issa al Yazidi, Ayoub al Hinai, Osama al Amiri, Yarub al Maamari, Waleed al Mahrouqi and Hammoud Hamed.
Sohar players included Hassan al Ghafri, Ismail al Abri, Abdullah al Saadi, Abdullah al Ajmi, Ibrahim al Hadrami, Abdullah al Shaidi, Ali al Rahbi, Anas al Harthy, Muhannad al Maamari and Ayman Khamis.
