MUSCAT: The wraps have finally come off the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 – a favourite of full-size SUV lovers with a penchant for muscular styling, brute strength and unmatched offroad capabilities – with or without a heavy load in tow.
As with its siblings across the Chevrolet line-up, the all-new Z71, an adventure-packed standalone trim from the legendary Tahoe line-up, benefits from a styling reboot, best-in-class interior, superior performance and advanced technology. It has been engineered and equipped to tackle some of the Middle East’s most rugged outdoors, including its towering sand-dunes, rock-strewn water channels and expansive gravel plains. With a best-in-class approach angle of up to 34.0 degrees, the Z71 is capable of handling all kinds of natural landscapes.
Powering the all-new Z71 is a 5.3L V8 engine mated to an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Delivering a substantial 355 horsepower and 519 Nm of torque, it packs enough power to tow heavy loads of up to 3,800 kg with hardly a murmur. Helping balance efficiency with performance is the Tahoe’s Dynamic Fuel Management system that optimizes engine efficiency across a broad range of driving conditions.
An attention-grabber in its own right, the all-new Tahoe Z71 encapsulates the ‘bigger, bolder, better’ signature styling of the legendary Chevrolet brand. The interior is equally striking. Every seat is designed for maximum comfort amid an exceptionally spacious cabin. Its refreshed design allows for 66% more cargo space behind the third row, adding to its appeal as the most practical full-size SUV in the segment.
Advanced technology is an overarching feature of the Tahoe Z71, as exemplified by its class-leading 360 camera with nine views, including HD Surround Vision and Rear Camera Mirror. Cutting-edge safety features abound as well, notably the Chevy Safety Assist which encompasses active safety features such as Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator and IntelliBeam auto high beams.
A key feature of the Z71 is the Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) system, which draws on sports car DNA to deliver improved driving performance. If wheel slip is detected on either side of the vehicle, eLSD reacts instantly to shift power to the wheel with better traction. That additional traction can contribute to increased driver confidence in difficult types of terrain and weather conditions.
In keeping with the Tahoe’s iconic status, the all-new Z71 comes packed with unrivalled connectivity and technology with up to five display screens. Available are also an 8-inch-diagonal instrument cluster, 15-inch head-up display, dual 12.6-inch diagonal rear seat LCD displays - the segment’s most advanced rear seat media system, keeping rear passengers entertained even during lengthy drives.
