66 horses qualify for endurance race

Muscat: As many as 66 horses were able to win the qualification card in the second endurance competition organised by the Oman Equestrian Federation for this season 2022-2023, at Al Mohammed Endurance Village in Barka with participation of 70 horses for distances of 40 km and 80 km.


Fourteen horses out of 16 qualified in the 80 km race, 52 horses out of 54 qualified in the 40 km race. The two races witnessed wide participation which indicated the high readiness of the participants, including owners, trainers and jockeys.


The qualifying competition for the distance of 80 km started in the evening, in which 16 horses participated, and 14 horses were able to successfully pass the competition. An hour, the maximum speed limit was 16 km/h, and the maximum heart rate was 56 beats/minute, and the age of the horse was five years.


In the 40 km qualifying competition, which started in the afternoon, 54 horses, and 52 horses were able to successfully pass the competition. The maximum heart rate was 56 beats/minute, and the age of the horse was five years.
