MUSCAT: Maisarah Islamic Banking Services – BankDhofar’s Shari’a-compliant window – recently held its third Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) meeting in 2022. The meeting was attended by SSB members: Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali al Shihri - Chairman, Shaikh Azzan bin Nasser al Amri - Deputy Chairman, and members of the board Dr Abdul Rub bin Salim al Yafai, Dr Amin Fateh and Shaikh Hilal bin Hassan al Lawati, along with SSB’s Secretary Shaikh Abdul Hakim bin Osman.
Agenda of the meeting covered various topics pertaining to Maisarah’s product development, acknowledgement of the previous SSB meeting decisions, in addition to reviewing Shari’a reports of some branches, and approval of changes in some services and products to facilitate the procedures and meet the customers’ needs.
The meeting was also attended by members of Maisarah’s management, Shari’a audit and compliance teams who emphasized on maintaining highest Sharia standards throughout the design to the delivery of all Maisarah’s products, services and financial solutions. The SSB members expressed their satisfaction towards the internal Sharia audit and compliance system applied by Maisarah and hailed its commitment to abide by Islamic banking guidelines.
