Hosts Jordan defeated Oman 1-0 in the final clash of the Jordan International friendly tournament on Monday night.
At Amman International Stadium, Ihsan Haddad scored the winner for Jordan from a penalty in the 64th minute.
Iraq finished third as they edged Syria 1-0 in the third and fourth place play-off. Syria’s goal was netted by Aymen Hussein in the 27th minute.
The four nations friendly event began on Friday with participation of Iraq, Syria, Oman and hosts Jordan teams. Oman team managed to start their campaign on successful note as they defeated Iraq 4-3 on penalties after the regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw. Jordan blanked Syria 2-0 in the opening round.
In the concluding fixture of the international friendly tournament, the first half ended in a goalless draw after both team's strikers failed to score. Various scoring attempts missed by both teams and the hosts were the better side in the opening half and then Red Warriors pressed hard in the final quarter of the half but without goals.
In the following half, Jordan players managed to break the deadlock in the 64th minute after substitute Hamza Al Dardour was impeded inside the penalty area and then Ihsan Haddad converted the penalty to a goal.
Oman head coach Branko Ivankovic started the match with a line-up that featured Ibrahim al Mukhaini, Mohammed al Musallami, Ahmed al Khamisi, Amjad al Harthi, Ahmed al Kaabi, Harib al Saadi, Arshad al Alawi, Salah al Yahyaei, Jameel al Yahmadi, Omar al Malki and Essam al Subhi. The Croatian coach tested Yazeed al Mashani and Motaz saleh who came as substitutes.
