An awareness drive to prevent and reduce household accidents put stress on electrical safety in the country.
The drive targeted the vast audience of all the households across the country with an objective to identify the causes of household electrical accidents and to share knowledge on methods of prevention and reduction of electrical accidents.
The campaign was launched by the Dhofar Integrated Services Company as part of its annual programme named ‘Baiti Amin’.
“Launched in 2015 by Nama Group, the campaign is in its 8th year. The objective is to teach the important role of electrical safety to households across the Sultanate of Oman.
“The goal of this campaign is to spread the important message of household electrical safety in the country, in order to prevent and reduce accidents,” says Said al Kathiri, General Manager of Customer Services of Dhofar Integrated Services Company.
To achieve these goals, the campaign consists of educational exhibitions, lectures and workshops, videos, competitions, and even a solar-powered van, which has travelled to various areas of Dhofar, spreading awareness about the campaign, and its message of electrical safety.
“The van is our focal point this year. We are using it to get closer to the local society, and get them more engaged with the event.”
The Baiti Amin campaign is set to last for four months. It will spread awareness about the importance of preventing and reducing electrical household accidents.
