Meet discusses challenges facing private schools

NIZWA: The General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate hosted principals of private schools in Nizwa on Saturday.


The meeting was attended by Amal bint Khalifa al Shukriyah, Director of the Private Schools Department, and several educational supervisors for private schools.


The meeting aimed to provide the participants with an opportunity to learn about the new organisational structure of the Private Schools Department and its services to ensure the quality of education. The meeting discussed difficulties facing private schools.


Al Shukriyah thanked private school principals for their efforts to advance education. She talked about the role of private schools in the governorate and stressed the need for excellence in academic achievement. She explained the importance of activating the correspondence system and continuous communication between schools and the department.


Al Shukriyah provided instructions on the appointment system, licensing procedures and means of transportation. She also suggested that schools could face difficulties in some administrative and educational aspects while communicating with parents.

Ahmed bin Abdullah al Khayari, Assistant Director of the Private Schools Department, stressed the need to adhere to the rules and regulations. He also urged the attendees to attend training workshops and implement safety procedures to ensure students' safety in school campus and transport.


Ruqayah bint Suleiman al Harassiyah, an IT specialist, presented a working paper on introducing the correspondence system and students' registration in the educational portal.


Ahmed bin Hamad bin Salim Ambusaidi, Coordination and Follow-up Supervisor, presented a working paper on creating a licence.


Yahya al Sarhani, Studies, and Follow-up Specialist presented a second working paper in which he talked about licenses and changing the name of a private school.


Badr bin Hilal bin Malik al Abri, a senior supervision specialist in the Private Schools Department, presented a working paper that talked about appointments.


The meeting concluded with the presentation by Sumayah al Hammamiyah, Kindergarten supervisor, who discussed the guidance bulletin for the early education stage.
