The Oman Billiards and Snooker Committee has chosen the national team players participating in the West Asian Championship and the combined Arab Championship for Billiards and Snooker, which will be held in Bahrain from October 14 to 29. The qualifiers were selected from the billiards classification tournament that was held in Hall 888 in the Wilayat of Seeb, and the snooker tournament that was held at the Billiards Hall in Al Khuwair.
The classification tournament recorded strong competitions between 34 participants, including 22 players in billiards, and 12 players in snooker, who competed to reach the list of the Oman national team that will participate in the two tournaments.
Mubarak al Wahaibi and Malik al Nabhani qualified to represent Oman national team in the snooker competitions, while Abdullah al Raisi and Abdul Rahman al Ma’ashani qualified to represent the billiards team.
On this occasion, Hammoud bin Hamdan al Harthy, Secretary of the Committee, said, “It is necessary to pay attention to young people and new talents, as a plan was adopted to select young people. Our professional national coach has extensive experience in managing the course of the game, in accordance with the relevant international rules and standards, and has the expertise to pick the young talents."
