NIZWA: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (Nizwa Technical College) received 324 students in the first batch of general education diploma students for the academic year 2022-2023. Dr Hafedh bin Said al Rahbi, Dean of the University Branch, Assistant Dean, and Heads of Academic and Administrative Departments at the University, welcomed the students.
The first day included the dean's meeting with the new students, and introducing them to the foundation year programme. It had English language skills, academic levels, duration of study at the centre, support services, assessment system, final exams, attendance and absence system, and the essential guidelines for discipline.
A detailed presentation was given at the ceremony on mathematics and computer skills. The Centre for Educational Technologies also clearly explained the electronic services provided to students and the mechanism for activating and using electronic accounts. The Centre for Educational Technologies is considered one of the leading centres supporting the teaching and learning processes at the university and a tributary of many technical and academic services for the departments and centres in the university.
The Student Advisory Council presented a definition of the activities, objectives, and committees of the Council and the work accomplished during the seventh session of the academic year 2021-2022. In addition to the conditions for membership of the Council in its new session and the registration method.
The second day of the induction week will include a test in English and computer skills and a lecture on compatibility in university life.
