MUSCAT: CC Energy Development (CCED), in collaboration with Omantel, has delivered 4G GSM Services through its most recent telecommunication infrastructure upgrade in its operating blocks. This upgrade includes a 60m tall telecommunication tower and a fiber optic cable to camp facilities located in Eastern Central Oman. The construction of the tower also serves the local community by providing enhanced mobile services.

The telecommunication infrastructure hosts various services from both major service providers in the Sultanate, including the previously hosted Ooredoo 4G+ Service as well as the recent introduction of Omantel 4G services. This infrastructure utilizes modern information processes to transfer real-time operational data which advances remote field management.

Muna al Badi, Head of Information and Communication Technology at CCED said, “Delivery of this major Telecommunication Infrastructure in our blocks, is part of our strategy to drive digital transformation; this infrastructure supported Omantel 4G Services at our camp facilities as well as other major upgrades of services. We believe that the telecom services have direct and indirect benefits to our operations and the community at large. For example, with internet, mobile apps, VoIP and other means of communication, our team can exchange information in real time and stay connected to our partners and clients. Having these technologies in place, can also reduce operational costs, and increase productivity across all departments.”

Given the high demand on telecom services in the Sultanate, CCED previously built telecommunication infrastructure in its Blocks 3 and 4. This addition offers the local community improved connectivity, while also supporting the government’s efforts to ensure better access to information, encourage innovation and promote e-learning.

Since the beginning of its operations in 2007, CCED has been focused on community and people development by utilizing the latest technologies and offering its team the best facilities and services to excel. The new telecommunication tower also contributes to the development of the area by optimizing network coverage, and providing opportunities for telecom operators to accelerate the rollout of new wireless technology. The company is committed to continue improving day-to-day operating processes, while also benefiting the local community.
