New Delhi: The Royal Army of Oman and the Indian Army concluded the fourth edition of the joint military exercise Al Najah in Bikaner in the Indian state of Rajasthan on Friday. The exercise, which began on August 1, included target shooting practices, war games and crisis simulations.
The closing ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Jitesh Ralli, Commander of the 57th Brigade of the Indian Army; Brigadier General Humaid bin Abdullah al Maamari, Commander of the 23rd Infantry Brigade of the Royal Army of Oman; Rear Admiral Khamis bin Saeed al Farsi, Military Attaché in the friendly Republic of India; and a number of senior officers of the Royal Army of Oman and the Indian Army.
The joint Oman-India military exercise comes within the framework of the training plan of the leadership of the Royal Army of Oman to maintain the high level of performance and training and combat efficiency of the members of the Royal Army of Oman, and within the annual training programmes that are implemented with brotherly and friendly countries to achieve training and national goals.
On the conclusion of Al Najah 4, Brigadier General Al Maamari of the Royal Army of Oman, said: “The Royal Army of Oman attaches great importance to the joint exercises with the armies of brotherly and friendly countries, because of their importance in terms of exchanging experiences and learn about the experiences of those armies. The joint exercise Al Najah 4 with the Indian Army is one of the successful models of joint exercises with brotherly and friendly countries.
Brigadier General Ralli of the Indian Army said: “We are working with the parachuters of the Sultan of Oman to carry out joint tactical exercises that will enhance the cooperation of the two forces participating in the exercise, as well as boost the efficiency of our forces through the exchange of military information and experience."
Rear Admiral Al Farsi, the military attaché in the Embassy of Oman in India, said that the implementation of such joint military exercises aims at refining the combat capabilities and raising the combat readiness to achieve common goals.
Colonel Said bin Suhail Jdad, Commander of the Parachuters of the Royal Army of Oman, said: "This exercise was carried out based on the continuous training plans with brotherly and friendly countries that were drawn up within the training plans and programmes of the Royal Army of Oman." — ONA
