NIZWA; Wadi Tanuf in Nizwa is one of the most unique and distinctive natural landmarks in the Sultanate of Oman. It is considered as one of the most beautiful tourist places in Nizwa, suitable for memorable nature and adventure experiences.
Thousands of foreign and local tourists visit it annually because of its moderate temperatures throughout the year even on the hottest summer days.
These days, following the recent rains, numerous gurgling wadis and aflaj have become an added attraction.
The village of Tanuf is located almost half-way between Wilayat of Nizwa and Bahla.
The agricultural area spreads throughout the village, where the visitor notices, at first sight, the interest of the people in agriculture, the variety of crops, and the growing area of the agricultural site.
The fertility of the soil makes it an ideal place for growing all kinds of vegetables and fruits such as cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, lemons, grapes, bananas, quince and watermelon. Every season, large areas are planted with Omani wheat.
The village is also famous for raising high-quality livestock, mainly sheep and cows. Some farmers have started raising poultry, benefiting from the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
Tanuf is one of the most popular places people visit during and after rain.
