MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held a bilateral meeting at the Al Alam Palace on Tuesday morning.
The two leaders reviewed the historical relations binding the two countries and means of promoting them towards broader horizons in a manner that serves joint interests and realises aspirations of the two countries’ peoples.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance (Head of the Mission of Honour), Sayyid Dr Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidy, Adviser at the Private Office and Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Delegate to the Arab League.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Egyptian side by Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister, Dr Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Major General Abbas Kamel, Chief of the Intelligence Service, Khalid Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman and Ambassador Bassam Radi, Spokesman of the Presidency.
LUNCHEON
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik hosted a private luncheon at Al Alam Palace guesthouse on Tuesday in honour of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The luncheon was attended by some ministers and several members of the official delegation accompanying the Egyptian President.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan bade the Egyptian President farewell, wishing him a safe return to his country. His Majesty also wished the Arab Republic of Egypt further progress and prosperity.
On his turn, President Sisi expressed his utmost thanks for the warm welcome that was accorded to him and his delegation during the visit, wishing His Majesty the Sultan continuous good health, happiness and long life.
The Egyptian President also wished the Omani people further progress and growth under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan. — ONA
