Continuing to put its people at the centre of its growth ambitions, National Bank of Oman (NBO) held the second session of its talent development programme, Tamayuz. 58 high-potential employees from across the bank, including its branches and Muzn Islamic Banking, were taken through a series of workshops on the bank’s core values, five-year strategy and objectives. Launched earlier this year, the initiative is part of the bank’s efforts to develop the capabilities of its people, supporting its strategic priorities.
Aliya al Balushi, Head of Talent & Performance Management at NBO, said, “Our people are the heartbeat of the bank and strengthening their capabilities and supporting their development is key to our values and our strategy. Our team is full of hand-picked and qualified professionals and by providing them with opportunities like Tamayuz we are keeping their growth on track. This way they can continue to fulfil their personal and professional goals, while staying aligned with the bank’s ambitions as a progressive, market-leading institution, one where people enjoy working and ultimately, are equipped to serve our customers best.”
The first batch of Tamayuz will run until December 2023. Held in collaboration with elite business schools and training institutes, it includes workshops and courses alongside external coaching to help participants strengthen their areas of development, preparing them for leadership roles in the future. Participants will also undertake assignments in line with NBO’s strategic goals and will also be able to earn professional certification to help progress their aspirational and organisational goals.
