Muscat: Oman's Consulate General in Karachi, Pakistan on Monday said they have received the Omani fishermen, Salem Al-Jaafari and Ali Al-Jaafari, who went missing at sea from al Ashkharah on June 9th.
The Consulate General said in a statement that both the fishermen were handed over to them by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency. The Consulate General thanked the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency for the cooperation and efforts made by them.
The Consulate, in coordination with the doctor of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, conducted a medical examination to ensure the health of the missing Omani fishermen. The agency affirmed that both the fishermen are in perfect health.
Oman's Embassy in Pakistan is coordinating with relevant authorities to bring the fishermen back to Oman.
The fishermen went missing on July 9th from the al Ashkharah coast after their boat's engine failed in the middle of the sea, forcing them to drift aimlessly in the open ocean for almost ten days.
Luckily, a merchant ship which was passing through the area noticed them and saved them.
