

ROME: A cultural expo featuring Oman’s rich culture concluded at the Colosseum Archaeological Park in Rome on Friday
The event was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, with the aim of extending cultural communication between the Sultanate of Oman and the countries around the world through culture and arts.
Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, said that the ministry is keen on taking part in global events that enhance cultural communication between Oman and other countries of the world. He added that these forums provide an opportunity to promote Oman, highlighting the country’s culture and rich arts in various fields.
He pointed out that participation in such international events give the Sultanate of Oman opportunities to enhance its presence in the international arts scene, gain more experiences and review rich blend of cultures between Oman and the rest of the world.
The opening ceremony included joint presentation by Omani and Italian musicians, whose pieces varied between traditional and international, classical and contemporary works.
The photo exhibitions showcased the Sultanate of Oman’s history and ancient civilisation, as well as Oman’s civilisational and cultural landmarks, Omani customs, traditions and wildlife.
The photo gallery included 38 pictures of Omani artists and three pictures of Italian artists. The Fine Arts exhibition also included 26 artworks by a number of Omani artists. — ONA
