The Ministry of Health has announced vaccination requirements for the performance of Haj.
The vaccinations will be available at the health centres. Speaking to the Observer, an official from the Ministry of Health said, “For the Haj vaccines, if the person is assigned to a specific group, the group leader will send the individual the link through which he can choose the health centre.”
According to MoH, the citizens and residents who have been accepted to perform the Haj pilgrimage this year have vaccines provided from Tuesday, June 7, until July 3, 2022.
According to the authorities' requirements from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, there are three specific jabs to be taken to be accepted in the participation of Haj.
As per Oman’s regulations, the necessary vaccinations require - two doses; the quadric vaccination against Meningococcal Meningitis (ACYW135) and seasonal flu.
Meanwhile, MoH has urged all citizens and residents who want to perform Haj this year to adhere to taking the vaccinations within the required time frame. As per the rule, the vaccinations must be taken not less than ten days before travelling.
These requirements are prerequisites for entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These steps have been taken for prevention against the spread of infection and safeguard public health.
The Haj this year will begin on the evening of Thursday, July 7 and will end on the evening of Tuesday, July 12.
For enquiries, the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has a hotline of 80008008, and more information is available on www.Hajj.om.
