Go First connects Muscat-Kochi with direct flights

Muscat: Catering to the increasing demand for more seats to the South Indian city, Kochi and in line with its vision to strengthen international connectivity between India and the Middle East, GO FIRST, the erstwhile GoAir has launched direct services from Muscat to Kochi.


A warm welcome was accorded to the inaugural flight from Cochin International Airport at at 11.05pm which left Nedumbassery Airport at 9pm.


The new flights to Muscat from Kochi will offer connectivity and convenient travel options to predominantly lesser income groups and blue collar workers/migrant working class flying abroad for employment.


Speaking to the Observer, Kaushik Khona, Chief Executive Officer, GO FIRST, said, “As we eventually come out of the pandemic, we are pleased to strengthen our international presence and commence operations between Kochi to Muscat besides other destinations. We believe that the situation is improving, and we are hopeful that this will further ease travel between India and Middle East,” Kaushik said.

“India is a very important partner country for Oman. We feel that the relationship between India and Oman is so strong that the air connectivity has to expand more. With demand for travel returning and countries lifting restrictions we are pleased to announce the start of flights from Muscat to Kochi. This direct route will enable tourism between the two cities and strengthen direct airlinks between Oman and Kerala," Shyamaprasad Kallat, General Manager, Mezoon Travel LLC added.
