Around 55,000 students appear for GED exams

Muscat: Over 55 thousand students (54,922) are taking part in the second semester of the General Education Diploma exams across 355 centers in various governorates.


Dr. Zuwaina bint Saleh al Maskari, Director-General of the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, the general supervisor of the exams, said, The Ministry of Education has formed several committees for the smooth conduct of exams this year.


Firstly, the Exam Management Committee is responsible for the conduct of the General Education Diploma exams, including supervising the students’ performance in these exams. Four correction centers four will work in two shifts, morning and evening.


Around 800 examiners will be nominated to examine papers in all subjects of each correction center, which will amount to 3,200 examiners across the country. More than 6,000) teachers will be assigned to monitor the students in the centers. The examination of papers will be held between June 6 and June 30.
