Muscat: In cooperation with Oman Vision 2040 Follow-up Unit, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on Sunday launched a series of workshops (labs) to streamline government services under the codename of “Mangam Labs Initiative”.

Towards this objective, workshops are being held at Oman Institute for Oil and Gas (InstOG)— till June 16 —to gauge the impact and efficiency of the labs aimed at streamlining government services within the context of the Digital Government Transformation Programme 2021-2025.

More than 100 representatives of government and private establishments are participating in the labs, along with academicians, experts and representatives of civil society institutions and beneficiaries.

The Mangam Labs Initiative targets 1,731 services within the context of the government's digital transformation programme. The preliminary stage focuses on 45 services covering the sectors of investment, municipal services, health services and housing services, in addition to 10 services proposed by civil society institutions.

The streamlining process involves the re-engineering of the service sector’s configuration so that it could operate in an innovative, prompt and smooth manner that caters to the needs of service beneficiaries.
