Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) unveiled its plans for the second half of 2022, which will include trade visits to several countries and programmes to boost economic development in several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Eng Ridha bin Juma al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the chamber as the official representative of the private sector in Oman has contributed to supporting our national economy considering the renewed Renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

He said that OCCI will be leading commercial delegations to a number of new destinations, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, African countries, Bangladesh, the United States and Brazil.

The Chamber is preparing a study to raise the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of investment and the establishment of projects in various economic sectors, in cooperation with one of the specialised consulting offices.

OCCI is trying to maximise the comparative advantages of each governorate when it comes to implementing various economic projects.

The Chamber also contributed to the establishment of closed joint-stock companies in Al Buraimi, Musandam, Al Dhahirah and South Al Sharqiyah to boost investment in these governorates and encourage Omanis, whether business owners or individuals, to invest in such companies.

“We look forward to establishing similar companies in the rest of the governorates in line with the directions of the future vision 2040,” Al Saleh said.
