MUSCAT: Throughout Ramadhan, Al Mouj Muscat’s Kindness Festival has demonstrated how simple acts of care can help improve well-being in the Sultanate of Oman and three events organised by the leisure and lifestyle destination stand out as already having made a difference to those in need.

The trio of charitable initiatives include distributing food boxes to Al Mouj Muscat construction workers, the donation of specialist educational materials to a blind school in Seeb, and welcoming a group of children and staff from a local orphanage.

The distribution of food packages containing essential items to help construction workers prepare their suhoor and Iftar meals is an annual event and this year 1,000 were gifted which was a big rise on last year. The second event saw a group of volunteers present Omar Bin Al Khattab School for the Blind with resources in braille and, having developed a programme of games for the school, they also engaged with the children in play.

The third demonstration of care in our local and wider communities was hosting a visit from Oman’s Childhood Care Home. Staff and children from the central Muscat orphanage were treated to gifts and as well took part in educational activities, helping to make special memories for all.

Al Mouj Muscat’s CEO Nasser bin Masoud al Sheibani commented: “Supporting others in the spirit of kindness sits at our core and I have been overwhelmed at the variety of thoughtful and imaginative initiatives organised so far.

“These three events were only made possible by the generosity of Al Mouj staff and residents giving up their time, clearly demonstrating our commitment to community and well-being which is a mindset and culture we actively encourages all year round.” From workshops and training designed for Omanis developing and running their own sustainable small businesses, to creating a world-class leisure and tourism destination that supports over 2,200 permanent jobs, Al Mouj Muscat is focused on achieving long-term sustainable growth to help ensure that communities can flourish.
